Emilio Cataldo is a creative force in the industry, with one of the nation’s leading eyes for fashion. His highly-regarded skill and reputation has led to him being named one of a panel of judges at the 2013 Hair Expo in Sydney.
Together with the other panel members, Emilio will judge from dozens of entries to decide who wins Colour Technician of the Year, Apprentice/Student of the Year, Salon Team of the Year and many more awards including the much sought-after Australian Hairdresser of the Year Award for 2013.
Australian Hairdresser of the Year is Australian hairdressing's most prestigious award recognising creativity, leadership, teamwork, business acumen, customer service, industry development and trend setting – all attributes Emilio cares deeply about.
“The Expo brings together the very best Australian and southern hemisphere hairdressers,” Emilio said. “To be part of a judging panel that is tasked with picking the very best is a real honour.”
Emilio and the Cataldos have attended the expo since its inception – and not without their own success. The Salon has previously won Best New Design at the Expo as well as being finalists in the Australian Hairdresser of the Year and Australian Creative Force categories numerous times.
While the salon honours are welcomed by Cataldo’s, Emilio simply enjoys meeting up with industry friends and colleagues, as well as seeing the fantastic new talent which is emerging.
“There’s a real buzz and excitement at the Expo,” Emilio said. “Everyone who attends is passionate about style, fashion and hairdressing. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of that?”
